Manager at Google confirms no new Pixelbook coming until at least 2023
- A Google manager has confirmed there will not be a Google Pixelbook 2 in 2021 or 2022.
- The manager did not confirm or deny anything about 2023 and beyond.
- The original Pixelbook and Pixelbook Go are still available.
It’s been over two years since we saw the most recent Google-branded laptop, which is known as the Pixelbook Go. Two years before that, we saw the original Pixelbook. One would think we’d see some sort of Pixelbook launch this year, right?
Unfortunately, no. In fact, it looks like we won’t see a Google Pixelbook 2 — or a Google-branded laptop of any kind — until at least 2023. This news comes directly from a Google employee (via Trusted Reviews).

At a Qualcomm press event in London, Chrys Tsolaki — Retail Partner Manager for Chromebooks at Google — was asked whether Google is working on a new Pixelbook laptop. Her reply was brief and blunt: “Next year there won’t be anything coming. In the future, I don’t know.”
That statement pretty much dashes any hopes of us seeing a Pixelbook 2 either in 2021 or 2022. It leaves the door open for 2023, but Tsolaki clearly didn’t have any information to share on that.
Thankfully, there are plenty of premium Chromebooks out there to buy, with Samsung creating some of the best ones. However, getting a Chrome OS machine directly from the company that creates Chrome OS certainly has its appeal. For now, the Pixelbook Go is still available from Google. You’ll just be waiting a long time before a Google Pixelbook 2 will materialize.
