Google Play: 2014's most popular apps, games, movies and more

As 2014 comes to a close we’re going to see all sorts of lists that look back at some of the biggest tech innovations of the year, best devices and, of course, the best Google Play apps and services. With the latter of these things in mind, Google has now released a massive infographic that highlights the year’s most popular apps, games, movies/TV, music, books and newstand feeds. The list also mentions that Google Play Games users unlocked 3.5 billion achievements this year.

Obviously the information was obtained from Google Play stats and we really can’t say we are too surprised with most of the results, especially the fact that Frozen is at the top of two out of six categories (Movies and Music). When it comes to games I was a little bit shocked that people are still captivated by Candy Crush (the #1 game in popularity), but I digress.
