Google Play Points rewards program launched in the US: Here’s how it works
Google is launching its rewards program — Google Play Points — in the US. The initiative was first launched in Japan in September 2018, and later made its way to South Korea in April 2019. Google says millions of people have joined the program since its launch.
The program will let Play Store users in the US earn rewards for buying in-app items, movies, books, subscriptions and more. Play Points can also be accumulated by downloading free featured apps or games. Google says that it will hold weekly events where users will be able to boost their earnings.
How to use Google Play Points
Google Play Points can be used for items and discounts in popular games like Candy Crush and Pokémon Go. Google is partnering with developers of some of the top apps and games on Google Play for the program.

Google has partnered with nonprofits, including Doctors Without Borders USA, Save the Children, and the World Food Program USA. Users can help support these charities with their Play Points.

The program is free to join. It will be available over the next week and users can earn three times the Play Points on everything they buy in their first week.
