Google Trips, Flights, and Destinations adds more countries and languages
Summer is coming to a close, but there are still people who are making plans for international trips and vacations doing this off-season. This week, Google announced that it has expanded the reach of its Trips, Flights, and Destinations services and apps, adding a number of new languages and countries.
Users who access the Destinations service inside Google Search will now find that there are 14 new European and Asian languages that are supported. They include Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Filipino, Hungarian, Indonesian, Japanese, Lithuanian, Malaysian, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovakian, and Slovenian. Destinations works when you go into Google Search and, for example, type in “Japan destinations”. You should then see the top tourist spots in that country, along with what the local weather report is like, the best times to go to that country, and more.
The Google Flights service in Search has also expanded to include support for 26 new European countries. They include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Ukraine. You can use the service to search for the best flights and book your trip with any airline.
Finally, the Google Trips app on Android and iOS, which officially launched a year ago, has added support for six new languages: French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese. The app itself is supposed to help organize all of your trip’s planning, and will also offer suggestions such as where to eat, or what to see, while you are on vacation. In addition, you can download your vacation plan and view it on your phone, even if it is offline.
