Alleged HONOR 20 render and specs show a phone worthy of being a 2019 flagship
With the 2019 smartphone season almost in full swing, a tipser on microblogging site Weibo revealed an alleged render and specs of the upcoming HONOR 20.
Based on the render, the successor to last year’s HONOR 10 has three rear cameras and the words “AI Camera” aligned next to them. The render also shows the phone’s power and volume buttons on the right, along with the charging port and headphone jack at the bottom.
Because the render doesn’t show a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, it’s possible that the HONOR 20 features an in-display fingerprint sensor. It’s also likely that the phone features facial recognition to unlock your device.
The specs expand on what we see in the render. The three rear cameras reportedly comprise of a 48-megapixel main sensor, a 20MP secondary sensor, and an 8MP tertiary camera. Apart from the 48MP sensor, we don’t know what roles the 20MP and 8MP cameras will fulfill. Perhaps the 20MP camera acts as a telephoto lens, while the 8MP sensor is for ultra wide-angle shots.
Elsewhere, the HONOR 20 reportedly features a 32MP selfie camera Huawei’s homegrown Kirin 980 processor, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and a 3,650mAh battery. The phone reportedly runs Android 9 Pie and HUAWEI’s EMUI 9.0 software overlay out of the box.
According to the leak, there will be three HONOR 20 variants — one version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage for 2,999 yuan (~$447), a second with an additional 2GB of RAM for 3,399 yuan (~$507), and a third with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for 3,799 yuan (~$566).
We’ll likely learn more about the HONOR 20 very soon. In the meantime, sound off in the comments if the HONOR 20 sounds like a phone you’d pick up.
