HONOR 9 Lite gets Face Unlock in India with latest OTA

The HONOR 9 Lite is getting Face Unlock with its latest update in India. The news arrives from Beebom, which said the update would arrive in stages, with the full deployment to be completed by March 5.

The HONOR 9 Lite is the latest of several HONOR devices, including the HONOR 7X and View 10, to receive the upgrade recently, though the feature has been available on Chinese devices for some time.

At Rs. 10,999 (~$170), the HONOR 9 Lite is one of the least expensive smartphones on the market to support the feature, which allows users to unlock devices using facial recognition. It’s a fast and somewhat secure method for unlocking devices, but it’s not foolproof.
