HONOR Magic 4 Pro is here with one of the strongest specs sheets of 2022
- The HONOR Magic 4 Pro and vanilla HONOR Magic 4 launched today.
- As far as specs go, the Pro model boasts one of the best specs sheets we’ve seen in 2022.
- The question, though, is whether or not those specs will add up to a cohesive whole.
With most smartphones (and other tech products in general), a specs sheet is always missing something. Shouldn’t the Samsung Galaxy S22 have a battery larger than 4,000mAh? Why doesn’t the Google Pixel 6 have a 120Hz display refresh rate? Really, why doesn’t the OnePlus 9 Pro have a periscope zoom lens?
The HONOR Magic 4 Pro, launched today, aims to have the specs sheet to end all specs sheets. Its triple-lens camera system has a 64MP periscope zoom and it has a 120Hz refresh rate on a WQHD+ display. It charges at an astounding 100W both wired and wirelessly. And yes, it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood.

Meanwhile, the vanilla HONOR Magic 4 is no slouch in the specs department, either. In fact, for a few categories, the vanilla model beats the Pro model.
Of course, the best specs sheet in the world doesn’t mean anything if the cohesive whole doesn’t impress you. The Magic 4 Pro does look great and seems, on paper, to be a powerhouse. But will that be enough?
Check out the full specs sheet below for yourself.

Super-fast charging speeds, most advanced display
Two aspects of the HONOR Magic 4 Pro stick out. The first is its ridiculous charging speeds. A wired charging speed of 100W is very fast, no question. But a wireless charging speed of 100W is ridiculous, and this phone is capable of both.
According to HONOR, the 100W speeds allow you to charge the device from zero to 90% in just 30 minutes. We’ll need to test that for ourselves, obviously. But if it pans out, that would be the fastest wireless charging speed we’ve ever seen.

Of course, in order to see those 100W wireless charging speeds, you’ll need a special wireless charger. HONOR will gladly sell you the HONOR SuperCharge Wireless Charger Stand, which will be sold separately from the Magic 4 Pro. Launch markets, a release date, and pricing were unavailable for this product at press time.
In addition to these charging speeds, the Magic 4 Pro also has a first-of-its-kind display. The LTPO OLED panel is a third-generation model, which we haven’t seen on a commercial device yet. For LTPO panels, the first and second generations just had an adaptive refresh rate, with the second-gen model being faster and more efficient at switching rates. This third-generation has high-frequency dimming, which causes less eye strain in low-light environments.
So far, we haven’t seen a display like this on the market. Obviously, HONOR would need to do a lot of fine-tuning to beat out some of the best displays out there right now. In other words, just because it’s the newest doesn’t mean it’s the best. But it is still a notable inclusion on this phone.
Pricing and availability
The vanilla HONOR Magic 4 will start at €899 (~$1,007) for the 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage option. Meanwhile, the HONOR Magic 4 Pro will start at €1,099 (~$1,231) for the glass-backed version with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Pro model also has a vegan leather version, although HONOR failed to provide the pricing details of this option. This model only comes in one color: orange. Interestingly, you can’t get a glass-backed orange model.
HONOR did not provide a concrete launch date for either phone, but did note availability will differ across regions. Expect to hear more details in the coming days.
