When a child goes missing in your area, there’s a very good chance you’ll receive an Amber alert on your smartphone. These alerts are helpful as they spread essential information among the community and increase the chances of finding the missing person. Nevertheless, they can sometimes be disruptive, especially if you get one at three in the morning or in the middle of a business meeting. While we advise you to keep these notifications turned on at all times, we’ll show you how you can turn off Amber alerts if you prefer.
