HP is today adding a couple of new devices to its Chrome OS lineup, as well as a monitor that is Works With Chromebook certified. The lineup includes a new Chromebook detachable and an all-in-one desktop.
The highlight of this launch is the new HP Chromebook x2 11, which is a slightly smaller version of the HP Chromebook x2 — the company’s first flagship Chrome OS tablet. HP is pairing this sequel with the HP Chromebase 21.5-inch, which is the world’s first Chromebase system to come with a rotating display.
HP Chromebook x2 11 specs, price, and availability
The HP Chromebook x2 11 comes with a promising-looking 11-inch 3:2 aspect ratio display with a 2K resolution. This time around, HP is going with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c compute platform (first generation, not the recently released second generation). This comes with a battery life promise of up to 11 hours. It’s the world’s first Chromebook detachable with optional 4G LTE.
You also get a CNC aluminum unibody design, combined with the magnetic keyboard and kickstand with 170-degree positioning, and a large touchpad. The HP Wireless Rechargeable USI Certified Pen is bundled with some of the x2 11 SKUs, and made to take full advantage of Google Cursive — a new notes app designed to capture, edit, and organize handwritten notes.
The Chromebook x2 11 comes with a 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera, and audio tuned by Bang & Olufsen. HP seems to be gunning for iPad and Surface tablets with this one. It will be available at Best Buy starting in October, with prices starting at $599.99.
HP Chromebase 21.5 specs, price, and availability
The HP Chromebase 21.5 is an all-in-one desktop that comes with a rotating display with Full HD resolution. It has a 90-degree rotation for portrait and landscape modes, and an upwards adjustment of up to 20 degrees.
HP is going with Intel Pentium Gold and 10th-gen Intel Core i3 processors for this one. You will get up to 256GB of SSD storage and up to 16GB of RAM. The focus is on the base stand of this AIO, which houses dual 5W speakers also tuned by Bang & Olufsen, a 5MP camera, and ports. HP has wrapped the base in fabric to make it kid-friendly and easy to clean. A Works With Chromebook-certified wireless Bluetooth mouse and keyboard are included.
The HP Chromebase 21.5 will be available starting August, at HP.com, Amazon, and Best Buy, for a starting price of $599.99.
HP M24fd USB-C monitor specs, price, and availability
HP is also throwing in a USB-C monitor with a Works With Chromebook certification. The HP M24fd USB-C is a 23.8-inch Full HD monitor with HDMI 1.4, VGA, two USB 3.2 ports, and a 65W USB-C port for a single cable connection to devices. We get 99% sRGB coverage and AMD FreeSync support.

The Chromebook detachable and AIO come with Energy Star and ePeat Gold certifications, and HP offers sustainable packing with all three.
