HTC and JBL announce USB Type-C noise-cancelling headphones
HTC is bigging up the Hi-Fi audio quality of its new HTC 10 flagship smartphone, and audio enthusiasts will no doubt want a pair of top notch headphones to make the most of it. HTCand JBL have partnered up jointly announce the Reflect Aware C ear-buds today, which have been specifically designed with smartphones in mind.
Interestingly, the Reflect Aware C headphones feature a USB Type-C connector rather than your regular 3.5mm jack. This is a technical requirement of sorts though, as the connector is used to draw power from a smartphone in order to supply the on-board adjustable active noise cancellation circuitry. There’s also an in-line remote with volume controls and a built in microphone for voices calls, so you can make the most of your phone’s features.
“JBL Reflect Aware C earphones combine sweat-proof design with digital audio and battery-free active noise cancellation, so you can shut the outside world out and enjoy better-than-CD level music.” – HTC
The headphones are powered by 14.8mm drivers and also come with sweat proof ergonomic ear tips, which will be handy if you lead an active lifestyle. The Reflect Aware C ear-buds come with three different sized tips in both standard and sports varieties.
Pricing, availability and additional specs about the JBL Reflect Aware C headphones will be available in the near future.
