Nougat update will roll out to the unlocked HTCOne A9 starting tonight
It took a little longer than expected, but if you own an unlocked HTC One A9, you should expect to see the big Android 7.0 Nougat update start rolling out later tonight.
The news comes from HTC’s Mo Versi, who confirmed on his Twitter feed that the rollout would begin tonight:
HTC One A9 Unlocked Owners! We have received technical approval on the Nougat OS update, and OTA will begin tonight!— Mo Versi (@moversi) January 16, 2017
The company first revealed back in August that the HTC 10, HTC One M9 and HTC One A9 would all be updated to Nougat. The unlocked HTC10 first started getting the update in early December, followed by the One M9 about a week later. It took over a month for the One A9 to get the same update. Of course, this is just for the unlocked version; any models that are tied with a carrier will have to wait a bit longer.
Since the initial Nougat update announcements, HTChas been quite busy launching or revealing new phones with Nougat out of the box, such as the HTC Bolt and the upcoming HTC U Ultra and U Play.
