Lollipop-based ROM for HTCOne (M8) GPe available on XDA
A couple of years ago, HTC’s potential customer base had a lot to wrestle with: should they invest a sizable amount of cash into a pretty product, albeit one that may not receive the latest OS updates? Things have changed recently, perhaps in no small part thanks to the sad state of financial affairs at the Taiwanese company, and updates are now promised and delivered. Still, Lollipop is now fresh for the licking and customers must consult Mr. Owl to discover when they can bite in.
LG owners may have been in for the shock of their Lollipop lives a few days ago, but HTCfans no longer need to wait to enjoy some hard candy. Thanks to the programming prowess of the Skydragon ROM team, and posted by XDA user (and Skydragon team member) Holy Angel, the GPe edition of Android 5.0 has been ported over to the M8. Head on over to the source link for the download, or enjoy the About Device screenshot:
Please keep in mind that flashing this ROM requires an unlocked bootloader and some knowledge about rooting your device. It’s highly advised that those individuals unfamiliar with the territory do some research beforehand less you want to be met with the possibility of a bricked phone. Likewise, remember that this is custom-made software and thus not everything is guaranteed to work (properly).
