New HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro leak reveals curved waterfall display
Render leaks of HUAWEI’s upcoming Mate 30 Pro surfaced online last week, teasing a new waterfall display. Today, an alleged real-life image of the device surfaced on Weibo, reiterating last week’s rumors.
The screen will have nearly 90-degree curved sides. This makes the Mate 30 Pro among the first devices to feature such a dramatically curved display.
On top of that, the rest of the Mate 30 Pro’s display specifications are shaping up to make it one of the best of the year. It’s rumored to have a 6.6-inch AMOLED Quad HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will also come with two 40MP camera sensors, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a 3D ToF sensor on the back. The leaked photo shows the device’s notch, which appears to house three separate front-facing camera sensors. One of these sensors is presumably for HUAWEI’s 3D facial recognition functionality.
The Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are set to launch with the Kirin 990 chipset, a 4,500mAh battery, and 5G support. We still have yet to hear word on storage or RAM options, and we will have to wait until the device is released to hear if the device will launch with Google services or not.
The Mate 30 series will be unveiled September 19 in Munich, Germany. During next week’s event, we will either get confirmation of these rumors, or we will see what HUAWEI actually has in store with it’s next flagship device.
