HUAWEI P10 Android Oreo beta program kicks off in Europe
- The Oreo beta program for the P10 handsets is currently available in Romania
- It might make its way to other European markets soon
- The stable version of the update could be released by the end of February
HUAWEI has launched the Android Oreo beta program for the P10 and P10 Plus in Europe. It looks like it’s currently only available in Romania, but could make its way to other markets across the old continent soon. It’s targeted at P10 smartphones with software versions VTR-L09C432B180, VTR-L29C432B180, VKY-L09C432B181, and VKY-L29C432B181.
To join the program, users must download an app from the company’s website, sign in with their HUAWEI ID, and join the beta test. After that’s done, they’ll be able to download Oreo on their devices.
As usual, the app features a “Reports” section where people can give feedback to HUAWEI about the update, pointing out the various bugs they may encounter. They can also leave the beta program at any time.
If all goes according to plan, the P10 handsets in Europe could get the stable version of Android Oreo by the end of February. It will add tons of new features to the devices including picture-in-picture mode, smart text selection, improved notification settings, and much more.
The P10 smartphones are second HUAWEI devices in line to get the Oreo update. HUAWEI has already rolled it out to the Mate 9 in China at the beginning of December. The company also plans on upgrading a few HONOR smartphones to Android Oreo including the 8 Pro and 6X, which should get it any day now.
