Two new HUAWEI P30 Pro colorways leak, US government ban won't affect them
Just as IFA 2019 is starting to heat up, some new HUAWEI P30 Pro colors leaked (via WinFuture). It’s very likely these two new colors — Misty Lavender and Mystic Blue — will see a launch during the IFA event in Berlin.
You can see the two new colorways in the image above. Misty Lavender looks very pink and Mystic Blue looks quite teal.
Although we won’t know for certain until the company launches these new HUAWEI P30 Pro colors, it doesn’t seem like anything else about the devices has changed. Don’t expect an upgraded chipset (such as the Kirin 990, which will likely also launch during IFA) or any other new internals — just some new colors.
Although HUAWEI released multiple new colors of the HUAWEI P20 Pro in late summer 2018, it’s hard not to imagine that these two new colorways of the P30 Pro are a proactive response to the United States government’s ban on HUAWEI working with U.S.-based firms. That ban only applies to new products, which is why the release of the HUAWEI Mate 30 series is so up-in-the-air.
Since the P30 Pro launched well before the HUAWEI ban began, these new HUAWEI P30 Pro colors are not subject to the ban’s limits. It’s a smart move by HUAWEI to drum up some more sales of its (so far, anyway) biggest flagship device of the year without stepping on the toes of the U.S. government.
The question remains, of course, as to what HUAWEI plans to do about moving forward with the ban showing no signs of going away. After all, the company can’t release new HUAWEI P30 Pro colors forever to keep things afloat.
