HUAWEI teases launch event for April 6th, P9 incoming
Just a couple of days ago, it was rumored that Huawei was planning to launch its P9 flagship on April 6th. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has official announced a launch event for April 6th, which is taking place in London and is almost certainly for its P9 smartphone.
There’s no specific mention of the HUAWEI P9 in the teaser, but it does contain the tagline “change the way you see the world” along with the hashtag #OO. Given that we’ve seen a number of suggesting that the smartphone will feature a dual rear camera configuration, it seems pretty simple to put two and two together.
Speaking of cameras, the latest reports claim that the P9 will come with a pair of 12 megapixel camera sensors and Leica-made lenses. While we’re not sure exactly what camera features HUAWEI will be including, previous dual camera smartphones have allowed for picture re-focusing, different angled lenses, and the piecing together of ultra-high resolution snaps, so there could be some tempting features here.
Other specifications for the HUAWEI P9 are rumoured to include a 5.2-inch 1080p display, octa-core Kirin 950 processor with Mali-T880 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, and a 3,900mAh battery.
Don’t forget to mark down April 6th in your calendars.
