Say hello to what could be HUAWEI's next smartwatch
On Twitter today, WinFuture writer Roland Quandt leaked marketing images of what is allegedly the HUAWEI Watch GT 2 smartwatch. As the name implies, the Watch GT 2 could be the follow-up to the original Watch GT announced in October 2018.
According to Quandt, the Watch GT 2 features a 445mAh battery. That’s compared to the Watch GT’s 420mAh battery, which promised up to 14 days of use. Other differences might include a thinner design and larger display, with the crown possibly a bit smaller relative to the Watch GT’s.
Quandt also cited the rumored smartwatch’s microphone and speaker, two features the original Watch GT didn’t include. That means you might have the ability to make and receive calls with the Watch GT 2, but it’s unknown if HUAWEI will release a cellular version.

Other alleged Watch GT 2 features include integrated GPS and an optical heart rate sensor. Also, the smartwatch might run an updated version of HUAWEI’s in-house Lite OS.
HUAWEI might announce the Watch GT 2 alongside the Mate 30 series or during IFA 2019 later this week. Once it’s announced, the smartwatch might come in two versions: Sport and Classic. Whereas the Sport version reportedly features a plastic strap, the Classic version might feature a leather strap.
