The new HUAWEI Watch GT4 has a cool sleep feature you won't find elsewhere

Buying a good smartwatch can get very confusing, as there are numerous options in the market with varied pros and cons. As a consumer, you need to keep in mind not only the features of the smartwatch but also the looks of it, as a smartwatch is as much a piece of jewelry on your wrists as it is a tech product. HUAWEI’s newly launched Watch GT 4 aims to balance these aspects with various features and designs across two distinct product sizes.

The HUAWEI Watch GT 4 is a successor to the Watch GT 3. As a HUAWEI product, it works best if you are within the company’s ecosystem. Still, there’s general Android and iOS compatibility on board, so you can pair this watch with all flagship smartphones.

The HUAWEI Watch GT 4 comes in two sizes: 41mm and 46mm. The 41mm has distinctly designed strap lugs (18mm) with a dial that the company calls “Pendant Design.” It comes in three finishes: White Leather, Milanese, and Two-Tone Piano Key. You also get a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a pixel density of 352 ppi and a 323mAh battery that claims to last up to seven days.

The larger 46mm comes in an “Octagonal Design” dial with 22mm straps. It is available in four finishes: Black Rubber, Brown Leather, Rainforest Green, and Steel. The display is a big 1.43-inch AMOLED with 326 ppi pixel density, while the 524mAh battery promises up to 14 days of life.

Of course, as a smartwatch, you can customize the watch face. HUAWEI has a large number of watch faces available, and you can customize various facets of them to suit your style of the day. The watch also supports an Always On Display.

Beyond its looks, the HUAWEI Watch GT 4 includes several health monitoring technologies under the TruSeen 5.5 Plus branding. It can track your heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen, steps taken, and calories burned throughout the day.

Beyond these, it can also track your menstrual cycle (assisted by your body temperature). Further, a new Sleep Breathing Awareness feature helps identify sleep apnea symptoms by monitoring your breathing during sleep.

The HUAWEI Watch GT 4 also supports the new Stay Fit app for comprehensive calorie management. HUAWEI has also redesigned the user experience with improvements to the launcher and widgets. The smartwatch is also IP68 and 5ATM rated for water resistance.

Pricing and Availability

The HUAWEI Watch GT 4 starts at £229.99/€249 (~$267) for the 41mm White Leather variant and the 46mm Black Rubber variant.

The HUAWEI Watch GT 4 is available to pre-order in the UK and Europe, with retail availability beginning from October 4, 2023. You can buy the smartwatch via the HUAWEI Store and retailers like Amazon, Argos, Boots and Currys.
