The service offers access to over 60 live TV channels, including local network affiliates. It offers additional channels, including pay movie channels via extra add-on packages.
The new Live TV price does not affect the subscription prices of Hulu’s on-demand service, which remain at $5.99 a month (with ads) or $11.99 a month (without ads). Hulu’s owner Disney announced last week that Hulu Plus Live TV had sign up 4.1 million subscribers as of September 30. The regular on-demand Hulu service had 32.5 million subscribers.
In late June, one of Hulu Plus Live TV’s biggest competitors, YouTube TV, announced an even bigger price increase. It went up by $15, from $49.99 to $64.99 a month.
