What is Idle Oil Tycoon?

Idle Oil Tycoon is what is known as an incremental or idle game. That means it performs most of the work itself and you really have very little to do. You open the game, make some occasional decisions and then watch how those decisions unfold. It’s currently free in the Google Play Store with in app purchases.

Here’s how the game works. You begin building an oil empire but you take on only the managerial aspect of the game. You make decisions on things like prices and what to buy and sell. As you progress, you buy more things, sell more things, and “level up”. At higher levels, you can hire experts to do most of the work for you so there will come a point where all you have to do is sit and watch. When you’re done, you can even retire and pass on the business.

The game is fun if you enjoy the numbers and managing aspect of games more than actually playing them. Obviously Idle Oil Tycoon isn’t for everyone and if you prefer to slaughter bad guys, build things, and actually do stuff then you probably won’t this one so much. In this game, you simply watch and make the occasional decision.
