Google Keep 101: How to indent list items
Google has recently improved Keep, its popular note-taking app, by adding the ability to indent list items, which comes in handy when making things like shopping or to-do lists. For example, you can organize a shopping list by categories or break down a large task/goal into smaller, more manageable chunks — check out what this looks like in action below.
How to indent list items in Google Keep
Indenting list items in Google Keep is so easy even your grandma could do it. Just swipe a list item to the right to indent it on your mobile device, or drag it to the right with the mouse cursor on PC. Reverse the process to un-indent a list item in Google Keep.

- Create a list in Google Keep.
- Swipe a list item to the right on mobile to indent it, or drag it to the right on PC.
- Swipe/drag a list item to the left to un-indent it.

When you mark the main task as finished at the top of a sublist, all the indented list items will be also marked as completed and moved down to the “Checked items” section. If you only mark an indent list item as finished, it will get moved down to “Checked items”, while the rest of items will stay on top as uncompleted — see example below.
