Indian customers, don’t forget to activate your OnePlus 3 damage protection
Buying the OnePlus 3 gets you a nice perk in India – a full year of damage protection. There’s only one catch, if we can call it that: you’re not signed up for the service automatically.
If you already bought the OnePlus 3 and you haven’t activated your damage protection plan yet, try to do it as soon as possible. The deadline for registering is ten days (Update: now extended to 30 days) from purchase or seven days from receiving the device from Amazon.in. Given that the OnePlus 3 went on sale in India on June 14, and that OnePlus India didn’t do a great job letting customers know about the promo, it’s possible that a lot of customers are close to the cutoff date.
To register for the protection plan, which is powered by customer service company Servify, you need to run the OnePlus Care app (download and install it from the Play Store). Then register your device and confirm ownership by uploading a photo of the invoice for your device (it can be a screenshot of the online Amazon invoice).
Full registration instructions are available on Servify’s site.
What does this damage protection plan offer? As per Servify’s Terms and Conditions, you get one “free” exchange or repair in case of damage from accidents or liquids, for a nominal Rs. 1,000 fee.
