Ingress releases their Year Two stats with an awesome infographic
Niantic Labs recently celebrated the 2-year anniversary of Ingress. Here is an awesome infographic to put the last two years into perspective!
Google’s Niantic Labs took gaming to the next level when they first launched Ingress just two years ago. Back then, you had to have an invite to play and invites were highly sought after. Since then, Ingress has been released to the public and has taken an almost constantly active role in their gaming community. This includes large, worldwide events and their new Missions feature.
Just how well is the game doing? Apparently quite well. Today, Niantic Labs have announced some stats about Ingress that round out the last two years rather nicely. If you don’t want to read about it, the infographic is posted below. Here are the stats:
- Players have deployed 64,272,120 resonators.
- They’ve also visited 178,137,520 portals. This number should include people visiting the same portal multiple times.
- There have been 281 live events that have been attended by 52,120 players.
- Ingress currently has over eight million downloads.
- 3,043,933 portals have been created.
- Ingress is played in over 200 countries.
- Players have walked just shy of 128 million kilometers (78,000,000 miles). That’s equal to 327 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon.
Those are some pretty amazing numbers and a huge congratulations are in order for the crew over at Niantic Labs. An equally jubilant shout out goes to the loyal fanbase who have helped drive up the numbers to such heights.
We’re very excited to see how the next three years goes for the world’s first really good “Real World Game”. Without further delay, here is the infographic!
