Instagram grabbing insta-translations
Instagram is growing at a pretty phenomenal rate. The food-and-fashion photo sharing social platform has garnered an increasingly global audience. These users from all walks of life are using Instagram for more than just broadcasting selfies or their latest order at the local Thai restaurant: they’re sharing their lives and interests through those little square windows. Instagram wants to make that sharing even easier across cultures with a new translation tool that will be arriving in the coming month.
The feature isn’t guaranteed to be live yet, but when it is, you’ll be able to tap a “See Translation” link to instantly translate any caption, comment, or bio. This looks like it will work essentially the same way that translations currently work on Facebook, which makes sense because Instagram is a property of the social king. Currently the app supports 24 different languages.
Click the button below to grab this app from the Play Store. Check your version of Instagram and see if the translation feature is available to you yet, then let us know how well it works in the comments!
