iPhone SE 2022 release date leaked: Not long to go at all
- The iPhone SE 2022 will reportedly be revealed on or near March 8.
- That’s earlier in the year than the iPhone SE 2020.
- It’s believed that a new iPad Air could join the party too.
There have been rumors and leaks for months now pointing to a new iPhone SE model launching in 2022. The actual launch date is still a mystery, but a reliable source may have just given us this information.
Bloomberg reports that the iPhone SE 2022 model will launch “on or near” March 8, citing people “with knowledge of the matter.” This would be more than a month ahead of schedule if the iPhone SE 2020‘s April 24 launch is anything to go on.
However, the outlet’s sources add that Apple’s launch plans could change between now and then due to production issues or other changes.
Bloomberg also asserted that Apple will use the occasion to offer a refreshed iPad Air with 5G and the predictable claim of a faster chipset. The outlet adds that a new Mac with Arm silicon could come as soon as next month.
Nevertheless, those on the hunt for a compact yet powerful smartphone might want to keep an eye on the iPhone SE 2022. The new phone is tipped to arrive with 5G, a beefier chipset, and improved camera tech. We hope the addition of 5G doesn’t affect battery life, as we thought the previous model (4G) was merely “okay” when it came to endurance.
