The Kinda Blue Pixel 2 is now available from the Google Store
- The Kinda Blue Pixel 2 is now available from the Google Store and Project Fi.
- The color was previously exclusive to Verizon Wireless customers.
- Google and Verizon had a similar agreement with last year’s Very Blue original Pixel.
In the first four months of the Pixel 2‘s life, you could get the phone in two colors from the Google Store, Black, and White. Verizon, on top of being the phone’s exclusive carrier, was also the only place where you could pick it up in Kinda Blue. Verizon and Google had a similar agreement last year for the Very Blue Pixel. Just like last year, that exclusivity is coming to an end.
The Kinda Blue Pixel 2 is now available from both the Google Store and Project Fi. Right now, you can only get the Pixel 2 in Kinda Blue. It only comes with 64 GB of storage, as the Pixel 2 doesn’t offer expandable storage, which is kind of a bummer. At least you still get free photo back-up when using the device. The color is currently not offered on the larger Pixel 2 XL.
This is the second year in a row Google has offered a third color variant. Last year, the face of the Blue Pixel was white, and this year it’s black. This year’s version also offers a plastic-coated body, which feels pretty nice in the hand. The coating also provides a better grip, which has saved me a few times from dropping my Pixel 2 XL.
