LeEco is coming to the U.S. this fall
While LeEco (formerly Letv) hasn’t had much of a presence in the United States, it looks like that will be changing very soon.
According to Todd Witkemper, LeEco Director of PR, LeEco is in the midst of hiring hundreds of new U.S.-based employees and prepares to officially make its debut in the United States this fall. The Chinese company already has roughly 400 U.S. employees and aims to have 1,000 by the end of the year.
Phone Scoop reports that the company will bring both smartphones and a video streaming service to the U.S., both of which will be targeted at millennials. LeEco is currently in talks with rights holders for U.S. video content (both recorded and live), which will be featured in the streaming service.
LeEco just recently launched its Le 2 and Le Max 2 in India. The higher-end Le Max 2 features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 820 processor backed by 4 or 6GB of RAM, while the Le 2 sports a 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 652 processor and 3GB of RAM. Both are priced very aggressively, just like most other handsets from the company.
