TL;DR
  • A new Nintendo Switch emulator called Lemon has recently been released on Android.
  • The app is based on Yuzu and was originally made for Snapdragon-powered devices, but has since received Mali GPU support.
  • Lemon offers features like easy data transfer from rival Switch emulators, frame generation, and per-game controller layouts.

We’ve seen plenty of Nintendo Switch emulators on Android over the past few years, although Nintendo has cracked down on some of them via legal threats. Now, a new Switch emulator has arrived on Android.

Lemon is a Nintendo Switch emulator for Android that’s based on the Yuzu emulator project. The app was first released last month and has been receiving a steady stream of updates since then.

What to know about this Switch emulator?

The team behind Lemon notes that the emulator was specifically made for Snapdragon-powered devices, although Lemon v1.1 has since added support for Mali GPUs. That’s great news if you have a MediaTek-powered Android device or an older Pixel phone.

Otherwise, recent updates have added features like frame generation, online play via the community-run Nextendo Network, per-game controller layouts, and integrated GPU driver downloads. Lemon even lets you import saves and other data from rival Switch emulators such as Eden, Citron, and Yuzu. That’s handy if you want to try the new app without starting your current games from scratch.

Lemon is available to download via GitHub and the project’s own repository. The app is also available in three variants, including a Lite APK with less demanding default settings. Of course, you’ll need to dump your device’s own firmware and security keys.
