Lenovo releases a wood-backed version of the K4 Note and it looks awesome
Seriously, what is it about slapping a plank of wood on the back of a phone that makes it so darn attractive? From the bamboo Moto X to TOAST’s walnut covers, it seems like a sweet slice of maple just can’t miss. As if to answer our collective tree-hugging prayers, there’s now a new wood-backed phone to get us all excited: the Lenovo K4 Note.
The wood-backed K4 Note is the same device you’d already be familiar with: 5.5-inch Full HD LCD display, MediaTek MT6753 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage with microSD expansion, front-mounted stereo speakers, 3,300 mAh battery and 13 MP/5 MP camera combo. Except the back of this one comes coated with a “wood veneer strengthened with [a] layer of flex strengthened polycarbonate”.
So no, it’s not a pure timber back panel but a layer of veneer applied to a plastic back, but it still looks the business. At just Rs 500 more than the regular K4 Note in India, why not splash out and get a fancy timber back panel while you’re at it? Priced at Rs 11,499 on Amazon India, the wood-backed Lenovo K4 Note is available now. Oh, and it already has Android Marshmallow.
