LG Display showcases transparent TVs with NFT art from Inspiration4
- LG Display is showcasing artwork inspired by the Inspiration4 spaceflight.
- The NFT art collection uses data captured during the spaceflight.
- The art is displayed on LG’s transparent OLEDs, providing a holographic effect.
LG Display is working with Turkish-American new media artist Refik Anadol to display NFT artwork on the company’s transparent OLEDs.
The NFT collection, “An Important Memory for Humanity,” is based on data collected during the all-civilian Inspiration4 spaceflight, the first of its kind. The data covers audio, health, and video data gathered during the flight.

Anadol wanted to combine the data with LG’s transparent OLED in a way that would simultaneously showcase the spaceflight and tie it back to the larger picture of humanity’s technological evolution. Using LG’s display allowed for holographic effects that make the digital art appear to float in mid-air, as well as create visual representations of heartbeats, telemetry, and ultrasound data to create a certain aesthetic.
“I understood how amazing the OLED can be for communicating data paintings and data sculptures,” remarked Anadol. “Especially LG Display’s Transparent OLED, is a very exciting medium because you can really see through the medium of data like a holographic experience while you are interacting with an AI.”
The art collection is already doing some good, recently being auctioned for $6.2 million, with 30% of the profits donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
