LG G6 and Q6 getting Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet color variants
- LG is launching new color variants for its G6 and Q6 smartphones.
- Both devices will receive a Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet edition, while the G6 will get a Raspberry Rose variant too.
- The new colors will be available in Korea from February, with worldwide markets to follow.
LG is launching new variants of its LG G6 and LG Q6 smartphones. The South Korean manufacturer has announced Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet versions of the devices, while the G6 will also get the Raspberry Rose color previously seen on the LG V30.
LG made the announcement in a press release earlier today, stating that the new colors would land in Korea in February, with “key markets worldwide” to follow.
In a scene dominated by black, silver and white phones, these colors do look fantastic. LG says the blue version was “inspired by the beautiful blue buildings in the city of Chefchaouen, Morocco,” while the violet version “was developed to appeal to both men and women who appreciate the finer things in life.” That being said, the G6 and Q6 seem like poor places to show off the new shades—particularly in western markets. The G6 was released almost a year ago and didn’t sell particularly well, while the Q6 was one of the lowest scoring phones we reviewed in 2017.
With the G6’s successor expected soon also, perhaps that would have been a better place to introduce the colors.
