Official images show LG V40 ThinQ’s triple camera and fingerprint resistant rear
- LG has released a short video that gives us a glimpse of the upcoming LG V40 ThinQ.
- In the video, you can clearly see the phone’s rear triple-camera setup.
- LG also says the phone will have a matte finish that will make it harder to scratch.
LG has unveiled the first official images of the LG V40 ThinQ. The images were shared in a post on its official Korean website alongside a short teaser video for the phone and they clearly show the device’s rear triple-camera setup — take a look at it below.
The camera setup looks similar to the one in renders leaked last month and, as expected, the fingerprint sensor is positioned below it. While the video shows a short glimpse of the front of the phone, you can’t see the front-facing cameras.
The latest announcement doesn’t mention what each lens will do. However, a previous LG video gave a pretty big hint that the phone would have a regular, optical, and wide-angle lens.
LG’s post didn’t give much else away in terms of specs or features, but it did let us know a bit more about the phone’s design. LG says the V40 ThinQ will have a reinforced glass back that has been treated with a “Sand Blast” technique. This results in a matte finish that, according to LG, feels softer, is harder to scratch, and should be less of a fingerprint magnet.
LG also confirmed the phone will have a 6.4-inch display and that it will initially be available in three colors: New Platinum Grey, Moroccan Blue, and Carmine Red.
As well as LG’s official announcement, leaker Evan Blass recently shared images of what he says is the AT&T version of the LG V40 ThinQ. In these images, you can see the front bezels and the return of what is likely to be a Google Assistant button.
