5G-enabled LG V50 ThinQ and HTC5G Hub up for pre-order at Sprint
Update: May 17, 2019 at 11:37 a.m. ET: Sprint has put the HTC5G Hub up for pre-order on its website. As mentioned below, the hardware costs $12.50 per month, while the 5G service for the hub costs $60 per month. There’s also a 100GB data cap associated with that plan.
However, the 5G Hub is only on sale in regions that Sprint’s 5G network is available. So, if you don’t live in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or Kansas City, you likely won’t be able to access the link below. If you do live in one of those cities, pre-order it by clicking the button!
Additionally, you can now pre-order the LG V50 ThinQ on Sprint’s network starting at $24 a month on a Sprint Flex lease. Again, you aren’t able to purchase the phone if you live outside of Sprint’s 5G cities, so only people who live in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, or Kansas City will be able to access the link below.
Original article: May 16, 2019 at 11:03 a.m. ET: Starting tomorrow, May 17, Sprint will open pre-orders for the LG V50 ThinQ, which supports 5G service. It will also begin pre-orders for the HTC5G Hub, a 5G-capable hotspot which will allow 4G LTE smartphones to access 5G networks via a Wi-Fi connection.
Both devices will hit certain Sprint stores on May 31.
However, the pre-orders and releases of these two devices will be exclusive to specific areas of the United States where Sprint’s 5G network is active, namely Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, and Kansas City. In the coming weeks, the availability of the devices will expand to other areas, including Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C.
The LG V50 ThinQ will cost just $24 per month if purchased through a Sprint Flex lease. The HTC5G Hub will cost just $12.50 per month. Use of the 5G Hub will cost consumers $60 per month for 100GB of high-speed data access.
