Material Gallery is a new Google app for designers to share their work
- Google introduced a new app today called Material Gallery.
- Material Gallery helps designers share and receive feedback on their work for free.
- The app is available on Android, iOS, and the web. All you need is a Google account.
Yesterday, we posted an article about Material Theming, a new plugin for the Sketch app that helps designers easily incorporate Material Design elements in their work. Now, Google is launching another Material Design tool in the form of a free app called Material Gallery.
Available for Android, iOS, and the web, Material Gallery is a simple and free way for designers to share progress on their work with other designers, clients, or even investors. Users can leave feedback and notes on designs right in the app.
Although the app is naturally geared towards the use of Material Design projects, Google emphasizes that the app can be used for any design work you like.
All you need to get started with Material Gallery is a Google account. Once you log into the app (or through the web portal at Gallery.io), you can go ahead and start uploading designs, commenting on other designs, or start the outline for a new project.
Google is likely hoping that by offering a free app that is itself incorporating Material Design and optimized for Material Design products, it will help emphasize the Material Design ethos with app designers. Although Material Design is four years old at this point, there is still plenty of work to do when it comes to increasing its correct use and helping designers keep their individual voice.
You can download Material Gallery for Android by clicking the button below, or you can test out the web app by visiting Gallery.io.
