Meizu makes a comeback in India with its flagship, Meizu 16th, and two budget smartphones
Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is making a comeback in the India market after being in a limbo of sorts since last year.
Founded in 2003, the company launched its first smartphone in India in 2015 – around the time when several Chinese smartphone makers descended into the market to claim a share of the huge and growing pie. Of course, only a few survived.
In a press conference in New Delhi today, Meizu launched three new devices and announced its plans to make a comeback into the Indian market.
Meizu 16th
The company wants to lead its comeback story with its flagship smartphone, the awkwardly named Meizu 16th (yes, there’s a ‘th’ in the name!).
The 16th sports a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display and packs in top-of-the-line specifications with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, it has a 12MP (f/1.8 aperture) + 20MP (f/2.6 aperture) dual camera at the back and a 20MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture.
The Meizu 16th is priced at ₹39,999 ($567) and will be soon available on Amazon.in exclusively.
