Milk VR rebranded as Samsung VR, users can now upload 360 videos
Samsung first introduced its 360-degree video watching app back in 2014, under the name Milk VR. Today Samsung has announced service is now getting rebranded as Samsung VR.
For the most, this is the same exact app/service as Milk VR, but with one useful new addition: you can now upload user-generated content. In the past, the app only allowed users to browse through videos hand-picked by Samsung and its partners, so this is a good way for Samsung to bolster the existing content.

The rebranding and expansion of Samsung VR comes at a time where the Gear 360 is picking up more steam across the globe. It also happens to coincide with the announcement that the Samsung Gear 360 is getting a limited US launch tomorrow.
Whether Samsung VR will be able to draw enough users remains unseen, though the competition is certainly fierce with plenty of other 360 video apps and services out there — including YouTube. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
