MIUI 11 roadmap revealed: What to know about MIUI 11, and when to expect it
MIUI 11 has been available in China for a short while now, but Xiaomi users outside its home market don’t have to wait long. The company has launched MIUI 11 in India, while also issuing a device roadmap for the update.
According to a post by the MIUI India Twitter account, the latest MIUI update will start rolling out from October 22 to October 31. This first wave will target the POCO F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, and Redmi Note 7 Pro.
As the above infographic shows, there are other MIUI 11 launch waves too. These waves target devices like the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi 6 and 6 Pro, Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5, Redmi Y1 and Y2, and the Mi Max 2. It’s also worth noting that Redmi A series devices from the Redmi 8A to the Redmi 6A are included in the MIUI 11 rollout.
Xiaomi notes that this launch schedule is based on its current testing plan, so it isn’t necessarily set in stone. After all, unexpected bugs could throw a spanner in the works.
What kind of features to expect?
MIUI 11 brings a range of features to Xiaomi phones, including a dark mode, video wallpapers, task functionality in the notes app, and a native step tracker.
Other noteworthy additions include the ability to preview documents via the file manager, menstrual cycle functionality in the Mi Calendar app, a floating calculator (that also lets you calculate EMI, bill splitting, days until your birthday etc), picture-in-picture quick replies, and improved Game Turbo capabilities.
