The TicWatch Pro, the smartwatch with two displays, is now available
- You can now pick up Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro smartwatch from Amazon.
- The TicWatch Pro features two displays that allow for two modes and varied battery life.
- You can use both modes to keep track of fitness data.
If you are a fan of products that look unassuming, yet works like little else out there, Mobvoi’s TicWatch Pro smartwatch is now available from Amazon for $250.
The TicWatch Pro’s differentiating feature is its two displays: a transparent and low-power FTSN LCD display on top of an OLED display. The OLED display shows Wear OS in all its glory, while the FTSN display keeps it simple and shows your heart rate, step count, and the time.
The two displays allow for two functions: Smart Mode and Essential Mode. Smart Mode keeps the OLED display active as you use Wear OS to send out messages, control your music, and whatever else you use Google’s smartwatch platform for.
Essential Mode turns the OLED display off and solely relies on the FTSN display. While in Essential Mode, you can still keep track of the time, date, number of steps, and heart rate. Any health and fitness data you gather in Essential Mode syncs up as soon as the TicWatch Pro switches to Smart Mode.
While in Smart Mode, the TicWatch Pro features up to two-day battery life. Essential Mode, meanwhile, pushes the battery life to up to 30 days.
Elsewhere, the TicWatch Pro lives up to its “Pro” moniker and features a heart rate sensor, NFC, IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and GPS. We assume the watch goes with the aging Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset and less than 1GB of RAM, but Mobvoi did not say.
