Many high-end phones today have a moon mode, allowing you to take clear, zoomed-in snaps of the moon. However, Samsung is in the spotlight after a Reddit user’s experiment showed that the company’s moon mode could be easily duped.

The Redditor’s experiment showed that Samsung’s moon mode will recognize blurry pictures of the moon and add extra details, craters, and textures out of thin air. It’s also worth noting that Samsung wasn’t the only smartphone brand coming under the microscope for this. Huawei was previously under scrutiny for its moon mode too.

So with all that in mind, we have to ask whether you care if your moon mode shot is generated by AI. Give us your answer by voting in the poll below.

We can understand why you might feel that any details created by AI wouldn’t be okay for you. After all, there’s a difference between a camera capturing more vivid colors than reality and a camera app creating details out of thin air.

Then again, we can also see why some people might not care about this at all as long as they can point their phone camera at the moon and get a clear shot.
