As expected, the third member of the fourth generation Moto G family, will be available from today in India. As is the case with the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, the Moto G4 Play will be available exclusively from Amazon India, and customers will be able to order the phone at 10 PM tonight.
As a recap, the Moto G4 Play comes with a 5-inch 720p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage, an 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing shooter, and a 2,800 mAh battery, that comes with fast charging capabilities. These specs make this device the lowest-end of the lot, but the Moto G4 Play will offer the same software experience as its more powerful siblings, and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
The Moto G4 Play is Lenovo’s attempt to enter the highly competitive sub-Rs 10,000 category in India, and with its price tag of Rs 8,999 (~$135), the G4 Play will take on the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime and another Lenovo offering, the Vibe K5 Plus, and you can find a more detailed comparison here.
