Motorola brings its 200MP camera flagship to global markets
- The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra sporting the world’s first 200MP smartphone camera has launched in Europe.
- It’s also the fastest charging Motorola phone and costs under $1,000.
Motorola has finally launched the long-rumored Edge 30 Ultra internationally. The smartphone is the first to offer a 200MP main camera sensor and was previously unveiled in China as the Motorola X30 Pro.
The ultra-high-resolution camera is not the only thing the phone has to boast about. It also carries a large 6.67-inch 144Hz display, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, a 4,610mAh battery with 125W wired charging — the fastest on any Moto phone to date, and 50W wireless charging.
The phone has two other rear cameras apart from the 200MP shooter. These include a 50MP ultrawide sensor and a 12MP telephoto shooter. There’s a 60MP selfie snapper upfront.
Motorola held a global launch event for the Edge 30 Ultra in Milan, revealing its €900 (~$907) price tag. This puts the new Moto in the same league as other flagship rivals like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, Apple iPhone 14 Pro, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and more.
With all those premium specs, it looks like Motorola might have a winner on its hands. The device could easily be the most powerful flagship of the year. However, only a full review of the phone can prove that theory. The actual performance of a phone can be very different from what companies promise on paper. We already have the device in for review and should be posting our thoughts on it in the next few days.
The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra will be available in a single 12GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration. It has two colorways, including Starlight White and Interstellar Black.
