Motorola posts Android 5.0 Lollipop update tracking page
After the official announcement of Android 5.0 Lollipop, Motorola was quick to announce that they would be updating the majority of their Android smartphones to the new OS, just as soon as they could. They are now following that up with an official update tracking page for their devices.
We’ve seen a similar page from Motorola in the past, many of you likely hit the page to find out if your 1st Gen. Moto G or Moto X would get KitKat. Nothing big changes for this one, you get a list of the known devices that will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop and can search for your device from there, if not already listed.
The initial offerings are as previously announced. If you are running any generation or version of the Moto G or Moto X, Lollipop is on its way. The Moto E will not be left out and the Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini make the initial cut.
While we now know which Motorola devices will be receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop, we still are not told when that might happen, yet.
The fine print, because there is always fine print, states that delivery dates are subject to the limitations of carriers and partners. They want you to know that they fully plan to update your devices, but things happen, and this could all fall apart. Good thing we have faith in Motorola, who have been consistent in providing updates in a very timely manner of late.
Head on over to the Motorola update page to see if your device is on the list for Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Do you have a Motorola device running KitKat that will not be receiving Lollipop?
