This is our first good look at the Moto G Stylus 2022
- New renders and a video that reportedly show the Motorola Moto G Stylus 2022 have been posted.
- The renders show a large flat display, three rear cameras, and an embedded slot for a stylus.
- A popular leaker claims Motorola could launch the phone sometime in mid-2022.
Samsung ditched its Galaxy Note series in 2021, and LG shut down its phone division entirely this year, which means no more LG Stylo phones. That made the small but vocal number of fans who wanted an embedded stylus in their phones upset. However, Motorola did launch the Moto G Stylus this year, giving those users a viable alternative to the Galaxy Notes and LG Stylos of the world. Now, we’re getting an early glimpse at Motorola’s next take on a stylus-touting smartphone, the Moto G Stylus 2022.
The report comes from noted gadget leaker OnLeaks and his partner site Prepp.in. OnLeaks has created unofficial renders and a video of the Moto G Stylus 2022. He also outed some unconfirmed hardware specs. The phone itself will reportedly have a flat 6.81-inch display, with a punch hole front-facing selfie camera. By comparison, the 2021 version of the phone had a 6.4-inch screen. Of course, the new version will also include a stylus and a dedicated slot inside the phone to store it.
The renders also show a vertical design for the phone’s three rear cameras, with a noticeable bump. The article speculates that the main camera will have a 48MP sensor. The fingerprint scanner will reportedly be placed on the right side of the Moto G Stylus 2022, inside the phone’s power button.
Other hardware specs reported include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 processor, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, a 4,500mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C port for charging. It’s also possible that the phone could support 5G networks.
The report claims that Motorola is aiming for a launch in mid-2022 for the new Moto G Stylus. It claims the starting price could be Rs. 38,475 in India, which is about $508 USD. Nothing is confirmed yet, so be sure to take all of this info with a grain of salt.
