Motorola's next Moto G and E phones may pack huge batteries
- Motorola’s Moto G30 and E7 Power phones appear to have leaked.
- Both would pack large 5,000mAh batteries along with large 1,600 x 720 displays.
- It’s not clear just when they’ll ship.
Motorola phones often revolve around their battery life, and that may be particularly true for its next wave of budget models. WinFuture claims to have images and specs for upcoming Moto G30 and E7 Power phones that would pack huge batteries — plus a few extra tweaks.
Both the Moto G30 (above) and its E7 Power counterpart (below) would center on 5,000mAh batteries that could easily handle a heavy day of use. That’s in line with the 2021 Moto G Power, but well ahead of the 3,550mAh battery in last year’s Moto E. The two would have 6.5-inch, 1,600 x 720 displays that wouldn’t be spectacular, but could easily contribute to an extra-long runtime.
After that, the differences would largely come down to processing power and cameras. The Moto G30 would carry on using the Snapdragon 662, 6GB of RAM, a 64MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultra-wide cam, a 2MP macro shooter, a depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter. You’d get 128GB of expandable storage. The Moto E7 Power, meanwhile, would make do with a MediaTek Helio G25 chip, 4GB of RAM, half the storage and a simpler camera setup that includes a 13MP main camera, a 2MP macro cam, and a 5MP front sensor.
The Moto G30 would come with Android 11, but the E7 Power would curiously ship with Android 10 despite the software’s age.
It’s not certain when Motorola would deliver the Moto G30 or E7 Power besides “soon.” The E7 Power’s price may be its biggest hook. At about €150 ($182), it could be one of the most affordable phones with a battery that large.
