Motorola Moto G31 comes to India: A Redmi 10 rival appears
- The Motorola Moto G31 has just been launched in India.
- Moto’s budget phone starts at Rs 12,999 and will be available next week.
Motorola launched a variety of G series phones earlier this month, including a quartet of budget-focused devices. Now, one of these phones has just arrived in India in the Motorola Moto G31.
The Moto G31 packs a MediaTek Helio G85 4G processor, a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED panel (at 60Hz), and a 5,000mAh battery with 20W charging. Oddly enough, it seems like the Indian variant has received a charging speed upgrade, as the initial release is listed with 10W speeds.
Otherwise, Motorola’s budget offering also packs a triple rear camera system, featuring a 50MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Selfies are handled by a 13MP shooter in a center-mounted cutout.
Other notable specs include a water-repellent coating, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, “near-stock” Android 11, and a 3.5mm port.
Moto G31 Indian pricing
Motorola India confirmed that the phone will be available at a starting price of Rs 12,999 (~$173) for the 4GB/64GB model on Flipkart. Expect to pay Rs 14,999 (~$200) for the 6GB/128GB variant. The phone goes on sale from December 6, so you’ll need to wait a week before you can get your hands on it.
In any event, the device looks like a pretty solid rival to the Redmi 10 Prime in India. Xiaomi’s device sports a bigger battery (6,000mAh) and a higher refresh rate, while Motorola’s phone offers an OLED panel and should boast a faster charging time.
