Here's our first look at the Motorola Moto G8 with a triple-lens rear camera
We recently got our first look at the Motorola Moto G8 smartphone, courtesy of reliable leaker Evan Blass. So far, we have several promo images as well as a short video clip to give us an idea of what to expect from the G8.
If you feel like you’ve already heard about the Motorola Moto G8, that’s because you have — at least, in a way. Motorola has already launched the Moto G8 Plus alongside the Motorola One Macro and the Moto E6 Play, all of which are likely not coming to the United States.
However, the Motorola Moto G8 will likely hit the US as the follow-up to the popular and well-reviewed Motorola Moto G7, which is one of the best budget devices from the past year.
Check out the leaked photos of the device below:
As you can see, the star of the show when it comes to the Motorola Moto G8 is its rear triple-camera system which includes a 48MP primary sensor. We aren’t totally sure yet if this is the same triple-lens system as we saw on the Moto G8 Plus, which, in our review, wasn’t the greatest.
Aside from the rear camera system, the Moto G8 comes with a waterdrop notch on the front, a rear fingerprint sensor, and three bold colors. Check it out in motion in the GIF below (courtesy of The Verge):
We don’t know anything about potential pricing yet for the Moto G8, but it will likely be in the $300 range. The Moto G8 Plus sells for £239 (~$306) in the United Kingdom, so a $300 price point for the Moto G8 here in the States makes sense.
We also don’t know anything about a release date. We do expect to see Motorola launch its revival of the Motorola Razr on November 13, so it’s possible the Moto G8 will launch then, as well.
What do you think? Are you in the market for a budget device? Is the Motorola Moto G8 on your radar? Let us know in the comments.
