This Galaxy Z Flip rival could have a display that covers the entire front panel
- Renders of Motorola’s next Razr phone have surfaced online.
- The images reveal a Galaxy Z Flip-like device with a screen that covers the entire outer panel.
- The renders also reveal what the UI could look like.
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip phones are some of the most popular foldable phones on the market. But it looks like it could have some stiff competition from Motorola if some new renders are anything to go by.
Well-known leaker Evan Blass took to Twitter to share a few images of what’s believed to be the next generation of the Motorola Razr. Based on the leaked renders, it appears the device will have a few of the same physical features as its predecessor. This includes the flattened design and the dual camera setup on the front.
However, there is one notable change that may give it an advantage over the Galaxy Z Flip — the cover display. Last year’s model had a cover display that took a little more than half of the front panel’s real estate. In these renders, the screen spans across the entire cover, engulfing the two front cameras in the process.
In addition to showing off the cover display, one of the images also shows what the UI could look like on the screen. We see some full-sized notifications, as well as what looks like buttons to bring up your calendar, contacts, and more. In the lower left, next to the cameras, we also see smaller notifications and two navigation buttons.
While the next version of the Galaxy Z Flip may not have a full cover display like the device shown in these renders, Samsung isn’t resting on its laurels. It’s believed that the Korean tech giant may put a much bigger cover display on its next Flip phone than in previous generations.
