TL;DR
  • Nest doorbell owners are reporting that live view has stopped working.
  • The issue appears to be mostly affecting the Nest Hello doorbell.

One of the reasons to buy a Nest doorbell is for its camera. With this camera, you can monitor, record, and interact with activity at your front door. Of course, a key component to all of this is the doorbell’s live video feed. However, an issue is now interfering with this feature.

If you’ve been having trouble with the Live View feature on your Nest doorbell, you’re not alone. Users are flocking to Reddit to report that Live View is broken. For some, it appears the issue popped up about a week ago. However, others have been dealing with the bug for longer than that.

The reports we found specifically mention that the first-generation Nest Hello is having issues. It appears that the second- and third-generation doorbells may be unaffected by the glitch. Despite Live View failing, some users report that they still get movement notifications.

The cause of the issue is currently unknown. Android Authority has reached out to Google for comment on the situation. We’ll update this article once new information becomes available. Is this a problem you’re currently dealing with? Tell us in the comments section below.
