HMD Global sends out invites for June 6 event, Nokia 5.2 and 6.2 inbound?
Earlier today, 91mobiles reported that HMD Global sent out invites for a June 6 event in Milan, Italy. That might be the same event that Nokia teased earlier today on Twitter, though 91mobiles also reported on Tuesday that HMD Global also sent out invites for a June 6 event in India.
Starting with the event in Italy, rumor has it that HMD Global will announce the Nokia 5.2 and 6.2. Not much is known about the Nokia 5.2, though the Nokia 6.2 is believed to be the global version of the Nokia X71.
Compared to the Nokia X71, the Nokia 6.2 reportedly features a smaller 6.2-inch display instead of a 6.39-inch display, two rear cameras instead of three, a weaker Snapdragon 632 processor instead of the Snapdragon 660, and 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB. Also rumored are a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a punch hole for the selfie camera.
As for the event in India, HMD Global might announce the Nokia 9 PureView and Nokia 1 Plus. The Nokia 9 PureView’s calling card is its five 12MP rear cameras, which capture 12 times as much depth data than traditional dual-camera phones.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 1 Plus is already available in the U.K. and features the Android Go version of Android 9 Pie, a 5.45-inch display, the quad-core MediaTek MT6739WW processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage.
We’ll learn much more once we get to next Thursday. In the meantime, let us know in the comments what you think HMD Global will announce.
