Nothing could go Pro with its headphones as soon as this month

UK-based Nothing first blew up with the Nothing Phone 1 in 2022. It took the company another 3 years to enter the over-ear headphone market, introducing the $299 Nothing Headphone 1 in the summer of 2025. Now that the company has a foot in the door, it doesn’t seem interested in taking things slowly, and is reportedly already working on a more premium version of the Nothing Headphone 1 that could carry the “Pro” moniker.

Details about the successor come from a Dealabs report, which suggests that the pair could cost roughly $399. And to justify that $100 hike, the Pro headphones are reportedly getting upgrades just about everywhere.

For reference, the original Nothing headphones boasted a single 40mm dynamic driver setup. The upcoming headphones could upgrade that with a triple-driver setup. This should allow different elements to handle different functions, like bass, mids/precision, and xMEMS-based treble.

In our review of the Nothing Headphone 1, we noted that the pair over-emphasizes “the bass response when ANC is enabled.” Giving bass its own separate driver could offer Nothing more control, potentially fixing issues that plagued the Headphone 1.

Elsewhere, the report also mentions LDAC compatibility in both “wired and wireless modes.” Considering that LDAC is a Bluetooth codec, that part of the report could be incorrectly worded. It could be that the Pro headphones would retain LDAC support for wireless audio, complete with Hi-Res Audio playback when wired.

The upcoming headphones could support spatial audio with head tracking, alongside studio-style sound settings, a Flat EQ function, and tuning done with Metropolis Studios. The Nothing Headphone 1, in comparison, was tuned by KEF.

The Nothing Headphone 1 Pro will reportedly sport 10 microphones, compared to six on its predecessor. More microphones should give the headphones more information about the noise around you, potentially improving ANC. In our testing, noise cancellation was already one of the stronger aspects of the Headphone 1. It’ll be interesting to see how much of an improvement an additional 4 microphones could offer.

The report also claims that the potentially upcoming headphones will offer 60 hours of playback, though it fails to mention whether that figure is with ANC enabled or disabled. In our testing over at SoundGuys, the Nothing Headphone 1 lasted 42 hours and 53 minutes with ANC on, and 80 hours with ANC off. That should mean that the 60-hour figure applies with ANC enabled, which could mark a significant improvement in battery life.

The Nothing Headphone 1 Pro will reportedly be available in black and white aluminum bodies and may be released on September 29. That’s a little over two weeks away at this point.

Nothing has a habit of drip-feeding leaks about its upcoming products via its socials. Considering that we haven’t seen anything official about the Headphone 1 Pro yet, we’d suggest taking these details, especially the September 29 release date, with a grain of salt.
